Taro is a photographer, physiologist, yoga teacher and conservationist.

Taro‘s curiosity of the world began with an insatiable fascination with technology, drawings, and anime. Over time his interests migrated to the science of biology and nature. His world changed when at 14 years of age he was given his first underwater camera, a Nikonos V. The camera represented a tool that could capture and compose his interests and is still in his possession. His initial photographic interest was to travel the world and capture human subjects alongside marine life. He later translated his underwater skills to filming expressions of human movement. He rotates his photographic interests from art to conservation to photojournalism and is known for his attention to detail. His artwork is focused on photographic transfers and ‘subtractive’ photography to create an elemental image.

Taro is a University of Colorado–Boulder graduate with a Ph.D. in Integrative Physiology. Alongside his photography, he is a renown movement expert, content strategist, founder of multiple health-related businesses and Vesselify school of yoga.
